From Netecology
Welcome to NetEcology
High technology, the Network and Ecology joined together to reach a natural way of life, in our Hacker's Sustainable Community: this can be a community, a natural common place to live in, a research lab in a rural area, an autonomous connected network. But mainly, this is a new philosophy of life: using our tech skills to achieve a sustainable world that will respect our Mother Earth.
Think about living in a rural area: you wake up in the morning hearing the sounds of nature, you take a Bio coffee with self-produced marmalade and bread; the Sun becomes warmer, you open your refurbished second-hand laptop with GNU/Linux. The wireless connection is working; you walk outside, sit down under the Olive Tree and start working on your code, looking at the Farm and its Sustainable Energy Plant. The wind moves the generators, the sun heats the water and creates electricity through the photovoltaic panels... everything is self sustained and works with technologies developed by ourselves.
This sounds like a crazy dream, but we are working at making it real. For now, we just have some Netecology:Projects on the run to be developed and some other ideas which soon you will be able to see and participate at. Stay Tuned on NetEcology !
